Hi, My name is Joe.
I am currently studying Fine Art at Oxford Brookes. I am dyslexic, I am colour blind, I have a condition called Aphantasia (which means I imagine any imagery to my mind) and most contradictory, I don’t like visiting art galleries. I usually find them boring and out of touch to the general population.
Art can be a powerful tool to communicate complex ideas and emotions, we can gain an insight into other perspectives in which we can gain a better understanding of the world we are all trying to navigate.
I believe art should be exciting and engaging for everyone. My Art practice is centered on creating a sense of play and escape from our everyday reality by creating deeply immersive installations. By changing our environment and creating a narrative, a suspension of disbelief can be made. In which we can communicate our unique perspectives of reality. I have joined Brookes Creative because I want to contribute these ideas of creating exciting and engaging art away from the art gallery.
